Metro Detroiters will have the opportunity to climb aboard Marine Corps vehicles and aircraft on display at Camp Schultz throughout Marine Week Detroit in the GM Parking Lot (behind the GM Renaissance Center). The Marine Corps and the Marine Corps History Division have named the Marine Week Detroit static display area Camp Schultz in honor of one of the iconic flag raisers from Mount Suribachi, Private First Class Harold H. Schultz.
Marines will be on-hand at each display to talk about the military equipment, including an MV-22 Osprey, M1A1 Abrams Battle Tank, Light Armored Vehicle Anti-Tank, Amphibious Assault Vehicle, CH-53E Super Stallion Heavy Lift Helicopter, and more.
Please be advised the following items will not be allowed into the static display:
2. Coolers, typically those on wheels that are large enough to hide explosives/weapons.
3. Baby strollers that are not occupied by a child, unless child is being carried.
4. Bicycles, motorized bikes or segways. Safety concern. (unless for handicap patrons)
5. Unusual objects that would be a safety concern.
Drones will not be allowed on the Riverfront at any time during Marine Week.
